Two siblings were shot dead hours apart in separate incidents in
Linstead, St Catherine on Friday, sending shockwaves throughout
the town that has become particularly violent since the start of the
year.
The deceased are 33-year-old Serena Needham, alias ‘Pretty Foot’, of
Veneica district, and her 29-year-old brother, Neil Needham, of
Montgomery Avenue, both in Linstead.
The female Needham was the first victim of gun violence on Friday.
It is reported that about 2am, Serena and another relative were at home
when gunmen invaded the building and ordered her outside.
She was then shot and later succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The other relative was unharmed, but the hoodlums took items from the
house before escaping.
Police reports are about 11:37 pm on Friday, Neil and another man were
sitting in a motorcar along the roadway when they were pounced upon by
unknown assailants who opened gunfire, hitting them several times.
Both injured men were taken to hospital, where Neil was pronounced dead
and the other man was admitted for treatment.
Detectives are trying to establish whether the murders of the two siblings were connected.
The St Catherine North police are probing the developments.
