KINGSTON, Jamaica – The search for a 43-year-old fisherman whose boat was found adrift in the waters offshore the Prospect Fishing Village in St Thomas on Friday, June 5 has ended.
Delroy Facey’s decomposing body was spotted this morning, about 7:00 am by fishermen in the area. The Police were contacted and the body was brought ashore with the assistance of Marine Police. It was removed to the morgue after being processed by members of the St Thomas Scenes of Crime Unit.
Facey had reportedly gone fishing in a 12-foot paddle boat about 6:00 am on Friday, June 5. His empty boat was spotted by his colleagues about 4:30 that afternoon. The Police were alerted and a search was launched, but he was not found at that time.
Investigations are being conducted by the Port Morant police and they suspect that Facey drowned.
