Hurricane Edouard southeast of Bermuda

KINGSTON, Jamaica—The Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica says at 4:00 am Tuesday the centre of Hurricane Edouard was located near

latitude 30.2 degrees north and longitude 57.3 degrees west or about 750 kilometres east-southeast of Bermuda.

Edouard is moving towards the north-northwest at 20 kilometres per hour.  A turn toward the north is expected later today, followed by an acceleration toward the northeast on Wednesday, the Met Service said.

Maximum sustained winds are near 175 kilometres per hour, with higher gusts. Slight strengthening is possible during the next 24 hours.

Hurricane Edouard is not a threat to Jamaica.
