KINGSTON, Jamaica—Jamaican Tyler Tracy created history on Friday, becoming the country’s first ever wrestling medalist at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay.
The North Carolina State University student got the better of Paraguay’s Joao Maldonado 10-0 to claim bronze in the men’s 74kg category.

Tracy’s achievement is also significant, as it’s Jamaica’s first medal at this year’s games outside of track and field.
Tracy continues his fine form for the island this year after becoming Jamaica’s first-ever bronze medallist at the U23 Pan American Championships in Mexico in April.
He’s aiming for more success later this year when he competes in the U23 World Wrestling Championships in Serbia in October.
