JDF soldier shot and killed in Mandeville

A Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier was shot and killed by gunmen in Mandeville over the weekend.

He has been identified as Gabe Reid.

Details are unclear but reports are that the military man, who is part owner of a car mart in the Manchester capital, was at his business establishment when he was approached and chased by a group of men. Several explosions were heard shortly after.

The police were called to the area and a search conducted, during which the soldier was found in nearby bushes suffering from gunshot wounds.
