A female police sergeant has found herself in trouble with the law after being arrested and charged with fraud.
Allegations are that the sergeant who has more than 15 years of service in the police force, was paid a sum of money to look after divorce papers for persons residing overseas.
Reports are that the documents were later delivered, but the persons overseas reportedly carried out checks and found that the papers were fake.
Reports are that the persons who collected the documents demanded a full refund of the money that had been paid.
Allegations are that when the policewoman failed to return the money, the complainant returned to Jamaica and reported the matter to the authorities.
The cop was taken into custody and was reportedly positively identified on a parade on Friday.
The female sergeant was on Monday granted bail when she appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court. She was offered bail in the sum of $200,000 and is set to return to court on September 19.
