Two T&T workers electrocuted, another hospitalized

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Two workers were electrocuted and another hospitalized with severe burns, after a metal ladder which they were using came into contact with a high voltage wire.

T&T Police said that Joseph Gooliaram, 26, and Richard Ramsundar, 36 were attempting to drag a large fibreglass and metal ladder through a window when the incident occurred in San Juan, on the outskirts of the capital on Monday.

Ramsundar’s younger brother, Ricardo Ramsundar, who was also working on the house project, has been taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he said to be in stable condition.

Police are said to be working on the theory that the building on which the men were working was built too close to the high tension wire.
