KINGSTON, Jamaica — Acting Commissioner of Police Glenmore Hinds has ordered a probe into Sunday morning’s escape of two prisoners from the Horizon Adult Remand Centre in Kingston.
Hinds said that while the Department of Correctional Services will be conducting a departmental probe, the Jamaica Constabulary Force must also investigate the matter as the incident constitutes a criminal offence.
18-year-old Casheen Peart, otherwise called ‘Nine Star’, of Church Lane district in St Thomas, and 22-year-old Omar Creary of August Town, Kingston 6 escaped from the Remand Centre after they allegedly made their way through a vent and breached the walls of the facility.
Peart is on a murder charge while Creary was serving a life sentence.
