Reports are that about 7:00pm a Toyota Hiace minisbus, driven by McIntosh, which plies the route between Lucea and Askenish; was travelling along the Dundee Pen road, loaded with passengers.

Upon reaching a section of the Dundee Pen main road, the bus stopped to let off a passenger when a gunman alighted from the bushes and opened fire hitting five persons, including the driver on board the vehicle.
