Three murdered in Clarendon

CLARENDON, Jamaica —The bloodletting in Clarendon continued over the weekend with the death of three men between Friday morning and Saturday.

According to the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the first incident took place in the community of Effortville.

The deceased, identified as 41-year-old barber, Jermaine Lewin o/c Herbie, was found with gunshot wounds after residents reportedly heard explosions about 1:00 pm and summoned the police.

On arrival of the lawmen, Lewin was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

In the second incident, also on Friday, 33 year-old Kimu Cunningham o/c Grants Pen or Pearnel of Mckenly of Palmers Cross was killed by armed men on Main Street, May Pen about 10:10 pm.

Reports are that Cunningham was at his food cart when he was approached by the men who opened gunfire hitting him.

He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, while two others who were injured in the incident were admitted for treatment.

In the third incident, the body of 50-year-old Edwin Anderson of Lewis Street in Race Track was found in a ditch along Foga Road about 6:30 am yesterday.

His body was reportedly found in a ditch with his mouth taped and his feet bound with duct tape.

He also had several gunshot wounds to his body.

Police said the scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.
