Police say they have received information that suggested that a 16-year-old boy was the driver of the vehicle that crashed along Marcus Garvey Drive in Kingston, resulting in the death of four persons, on Friday night.
Two teenagers were among the four persons who died in the crash.
The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Javian Dove of Barracks Road in St James; 18-year-old Kryshana Ellis of a St Catherine address; 16-year-old Omar Patterson of Tawes Meadows in Spanish Town, St Catherine; and 20-year-old Anthony Samuels of Ellerslie Pen, also in Spanish Town.
Further reports are that about 11:45 pm, all four persons were traveling in a Honda motorcar on Marcus Garvey Drive heading towards Portmore, with Patterson as the driver, when on reaching a section of the roadway, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which crashed into a utility pole.
The four occupants of the car were subsequently rushed to the hospital, where they were all pounced dead.
An investigation is ongoing into the development.
