The police are advising motorists to avoid using the Mountain View Avenue corridor in East Kingston,
and seek alternate routes, as heavy gunfire is being experienced in the lower Mountain View and Langston Road area.
The gunfire is reportedly among rival gangs in the area.
A special operations response team has been deployed to the area, the police indicated.
