KINGSTON, Jamaica – An estimated £500,000 worth of cocaine, which was allegedly on a flight from Jamaica, was found hidden in ropes at the London Gatwick Airport.
The tubular ropes were stuffed with 28 pounds of cocaine then used to secure a pallet of imported food including yam, sweet potatoes, avocados and soursop, according to UK media reports.
Investigators said it was a sophisticated bid to smuggle “high purity” cocaine through the West Sussex airport.
