A man, reportedly of unsound mind, was shot dead by cops stationed at the St Catherine South divisional headquarters, more popularly known as the 100 Man Police Station.
At about 5 pm today, officers were still seen processing the scene.
News understands that the man attacked officers and was shot dead. Anecdotal reports are that the man jumped the perimeter fencing and attacked them in the reception area and was subsequently shot.
An officer at Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) said that there were no details at this time, but that “there had been a fatal shooting”.
