A 53-year-old pastor is now behind bars after being charged on Friday with rape and for having sexual intercourse with a minor.
He is Elvis Thompson of Cave district in Westmoreland.
The police report that the incident occurred in 2014 when the child was sent to the pastor’s house to collect payment for goods.
The matter was reported to the Office of the Children’s Advocate, and following an investigation, a file was prepared and sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, which ruled that he should be charged.
His court date will soon be announced.
