KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has charged three policemen for suspicion of breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act
According to the JCF’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) the three, who were arrested in St James last weekend (June 27-29) are Corporals Joseph Robinson and Robert Thomas as well as Constable Andre Small.
Robinson is charged with two counts of soliciting $150,000 and $10,000 respectively and one count of accepting $140,000, Thomas is facing charges of soliciting $10,000 and accepting $9,000 while Small is charged with soliciting an unspecified sum of United States dollars and accepting US$1,720.
The cops were arrested by ACB detectives after a report was made that they solicited cash from the driver of a motor vehicle for not prosecuting him. The driver was allegedly found without his driver’s licence and vehicle documents.
The cops will appear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court later this week.
