Two hotel workers killed in St Ann crash

OCHO RIOS, St Ann — A wave of sorrow gripped the management and staff at Bahia Principe Hotel in Runaway Bay yesterday following the deaths of two of their colleagues in a motor vehicle crash Tuesday night.

Jodian Duncan, who worked in the dining room, and Shanique Grey, who was a member of the kitchen staff, died after the staff bus they and others who worked the 11:00 pm shift were travelling in collided with a truck at around midnight along the Dunn’s River main road. A number of other workers who were injured in the crash were treated at hospital and released.

Yesterday, Farrah Blake, social relations manager at the hotel, described the atmosphere at the property as “sad”.

“Persons have lost their colleagues so you can just imagine what it is like,”

“We just pray for strength at this time.”
