The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica has noted the passing of former senator, minister of government and eminent trade unionist Dwight Nelson with sadness and a sense of loss.
Nelson was possessed of a breadth of intellect and human understanding that enabled him to bridge the divide between labour and capital with great benefit to Jamaica. That same intellectual brilliance allowed him to move easily into and accomplish the difficult assignments in his chosen field of labour relations. He also had a capacity to negotiate successful agreements in difficult circumstances without creating enmity or hostility.
His was a life of commitment to his country and we honour his memory and offer his family and loved ones our condolence.
