UPDATE: Don Creary freed of rape charges

Livern Barrett, Senior Gleaner Writer
Former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Councillor Don Creary has been freed of rape charges.

Creary and his co-accused Shaneke Williams, were freed after the complainant indicated, in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston, that she did not want to proceed with the case.

As a result, prosecutors offered no further evidence against the former Councillor for the Castleton Division of the St Mary Municipal Corporation.

Creary and Williams were arrested and charged by the police in 2015 for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl in an apartment in St Mary after serving her alcohol.
