KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James, has been reopened after it was this afternoon closed due to a fire on-board Delta flight 304.
The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA) said a coordinated effort among air traffic controllers, the airport and the Jamaica Constabulary Force ensured an effective emergency response.
The JCAA said timeliness of the response by the various parties and its Flight Safety Division assisted in minimising the disruptions to air traffic at the airport.
Investigators from the Flight Safety Division of the JCAA have since commenced an investigation into the incident.
