KINGSTON, Jamaica — The policeman allegedly involved in a ‘death squad’ in Clarendon was today offered bail in the sum of $700,000 when he appeared in Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

Constable Whitney Hutchinson will return to court on December 17

He has been charged with the May 5, 2011 killing of Sylvester Gallimore, and assault occasioning bodily harm of another civilian.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) reported that the police constable was held during an operation on Wednesday night at Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston.

INDECOM reported that a warrant was issued for the arrest of the cop in connection with the fatal shooting of Gallimore, otherwise called “Seven Belly”, in Clarendon.
