American Airlines adds new routes to the Caribbean – Latest News

DALLAS, Texas (CMC) – American Airlines says it will add six new routes throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America to further strengthen its position in these key markets.

Expanded service includes new flights to Belize City in Belize, Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands, Guadalajara in Mexico, Managua in Nicaragua and Monterrey, Mexico.

“As we celebrate our 25th anniversary in Colombia we are very excited to provide customers with new service to Barranquilla, a favorite destination for tourists and business travelers alike,” said Art Torno, American Airline’s senior vice president for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.

“This new destination in Colombia and five new routes reinforce American’s commitment to serving Latin America and the Caribbean, providing customers more access to the region than any other US airline,” he added.

Customers traveling from these destinations will have the ability to connect to nearly 200 destinations worldwide through the airline’s networks out of Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and Los Angeles.

With these new routes, American Airlines will operate more than 1,750 weekly flights to 85 destinations.

In 2014, the airline added two new destinations to Latin America and the Caribbean with service between Miami and Cap-Haitien, Haiti and from New York´s John F Kennedy Airport and Miami to Campinas, Brazil.
