“BUYING AIR JAMAICA WAS A BAD DEAL” SAYS TRINIDAD & TOBAGO’S OPPOSITION LEADER!

Trinidad and Tobago’s Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley says his country’s purchase of Air Jamaica was a bad deal.

The Patrick Manning administration of which Dr Rowley was a part, purchased Air Jamaica five years ago, spending approximately US$52 million as part of the acquisition.

But Rowley says the purchase was a bad one, pointing out that he never supported it.

Rowley, who was speaking to the media in New York, also called for Caribbean leaders to make the Trinidad and Tobago-owned airline Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) the regional carrier.

He has also blasted CARICOM governments for not making any serious attempts to solve the region’s continuing air transportation problems.
