Cops hold man suspected to be serial rapist in Portmore

The Greater Portmore Police say they have apprehended a man who they believe is the serial rapist who has been targeting single women in Portmore, St. Catherine.

“The police held a man who they suspect to be the rapist, DNA evidence will be used to determine if it is indeed him. The cops held him in the Congreve Park section of Portmore,” a source told Loop reporter Claude Mills.

Reports are that over the past couple of weeks, the serial rapist broke into houses and attacked the victims, single women and teenagers, holding them at knifepoint before sexually assaulting them in several communities, such as Bridgeport, Cumberland, Portmore Pines, and Silver Stone. He reportedly raped seven victims, ranging from 19 to 60 years old.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage of the rapist and warned the community to be vigilant of strangers. Loop News will have more as the story breaks.
