Elephant Man Charged With Breaching Immigration Act

Dancehall entertainer Elephant Man has been charged with breaches of the Immigration Act.

A probe was launched into allegations that the entertainer made a false declaration to an immigration officer on arrival at Sangster International Airport last Tuesday.

According to a post on the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Twitter account Monday afternoon, a team from the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) visited the entertainer’s house and served the summons.

He is to appear in court on April 15.

The entertainer, who was in home quarantined, has now been taken to a government quarantine facility.

It was reported that Elephant Man arrived at Sangster International from Brussels, Belgium and was asked to declare countries he had visited.

It is alleged that he falsified the information by not declaring all the countries, one of which was Germany.

Jamaica has placed a travel ban on that country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview with Radio Jamaica News, Elephant Man denied the allegations.

He said the immigration officer did not enquire about his visit to Germany.
