Holness questions PNP calling election before reading budget

ST MARY, Jamaica – Leader of the Opposition Andrew Holness told hundreds of party supporters in Gayle, St Mary Tuesday evening that while he is happy the general election has been called, he is suspicious about it being before the budget.

Holness said he believes there will be job cuts and other drastic measures recommended by the International Monetary Fund.

The Opposition leader, who outlined some of his party’s plans, including for water and housing, said he will be further expaining these plans in an address to the nation today.

The next mass meeting for the JLP will be at Sam Sharpe Square on Sunday.
