KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) has reported that two separate investigations are now underway into an incident that took place in Hopewell, Hanover Monday morning during which a policeman shot and injured a motorist.
The policeman was reportedly left nursing wounds from blows he allegedly received to the face.
The incident, which was captured in part on video, saw the policeman and the motorist fighting on the ground before explosions were heard.
The incident reportedly took place after the policeman stopped the motorist for a traffic violation.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is investigating the shooting incident and Police detectives from Area One are investigating the reported attack on the policeman.
