Men Shot In Westmoreland Beleived To Be Involved In Drugs For Guns Trade

The Westmoreland police are theorising that the men who were shot in Woodstock in the parish late Wednesday were part of  the illegal drugs-for-guns trade.

Westmoreland Crime Chief, Acting Deputy Superintendent, Paul Bernard, told RJR News the police believe the men were on a mission to sell guns in the community when they were shot and their car set ablaze while they were still inside.
One of the two was rescued by residents and is in hospital with bullet wounds and burns. The other was burnt to death. He has been identified as taxi operator, Delroy Grant, of Thornton in St. Elizabeth.
The police theorize that both men are linked to the recent seizure of  nine guns and more than 800 rounds of ammunition in St. Catherine, as well as the seizure of three guns and several motor vehicles in St. Elizabeth.
