Motorcyclist killed in Hanover crash

HANOVER, Jamaica — A collision between a motorcar and a motorcycle on the Watson Taylor main road in Lucea, Hanover shortly after 7:00pm Monday has left the cyclist dead.

The deceased, a Rastaman, has been identified only as ‘Forty Five’.

Reports are that the motorcar was travelling from Lucea towards Green Island while the motor cycle was travelling in the opposite direction when the crash occurred.

The impact of the collision resulted in the broken body of the rider being flung approximately 20 feet away from the motorbike..

People at the scene of the collision said that the man, who worked at a restaurant in Lucea, had just taken home his girlfriend and was returning when the incident took place.

The condition of the driver of the car who was taken for medical treatment by the Hanover Fire Brigade Paramedics is unconfirmed at this time.
