Prisoners injured in Highway 2000 crash

The vehicle transporting prisoners that overturned on Highway 2000 this afternoon.

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Two prisoners were taken to hospital following a motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of the Vineyard Toll Plaza on the North/South leg of Highway 2000 on Tuesday.

Reports reaching OBSERVER ONLINE are that the two inmates were among five prisoners being transported into Kingston about 3:30 pm.

The driver of the motor vehicle reportedly lost control of the vehicle which overturned.

The other inmates did not appear to have been hurt.

When contacted, the police’s Corporate Communications Unit said they had no information on the crash.
