West Kingston Enquiry – Sitting Ends Prematurely – Resumes On Sept. 7

Sir David Simmons

Monday’s sitting of  the West Kingston Commission of  Enquiry ended prematurely.

Commission Chairman Sir David Simmons said hearings could not be held as the Jamaica Conference Centre has been closed until July 24, to facilitate International Seabed Authority meetings.

The enquiry was scheduled to end on Friday before going on a break. It is now expected to resume on September 7 and continue until December 11.

Sir David apologised to residents of  Tivoli Gardens who were slated to testify this week, and urged them not to be discouraged by the delay.
