Williams warns parents of another ganja-laced snack being sold locally

The caution over the product comes amid the recent incident in which more than 60 students from Ocho Rios Primary School fell ill after reportedly consuming sweets called ‘Sour Belts’ that were laced with cannabis.

The youngsters who were between the ages of five and 12 years, were taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital, where they were placed under observation or had rehydration fluids administered to them after they consumed the sweets that were bought from a male vendor outside the school.

The students have all since returned to school.

The police had identified the vendor as Devon Holness of Mansfield Heights in Ocho Rios, St Ann. He is yet to be located by the St Ann police.
