HOUSTON, Texas (CMC) –Police say four men were wounded in a shooting incident at the Houston, Texas Caribbean Festival early Saturday morning.
The police have also reported that two women were injured after they were trampled by crowds leaving the scene of the shooting at an outdoor amphitheatre on Lew Briggs Road.
According to ABC News, the gunman who invaded the J’Ouvert festival is still on the run.
“It’s usually a friendly Caribbean fest, everybody have fun, but this time one person started fighting, and that’s basically what happened, and started shooting,” eyewitness, Deion Woodson, told reporters.
Investigators say 30 off-duty police officers were working at this event, attended by approximately 5,000 people, but none of them was inside the building at the time of the shooting.
Reports also indicate that at least one of the shot men is in critical condition.
