Goat Thieves Destroy Two Cars Following Police Confrontation

A police operation on Tuesday afternoon in St. Elizabeth  to recover stolen goats has resulted in the loss of a police service vehicle and another car privately owned by a police officer.

It’s reported that the police were conducting an operation in Brighton, on the outskirts of Santa Cruz, after receiving reports that several goats in the community were stolen overnight.

Residents and the police went in search of the animals and came upon four men who were seen slaughtering them. The men ran; however, one was subsequently captured.
The police found ten carcasses, ten live goats and a large area of land under ganja cultivation.
However, when the law officers returned to their vehicles, they discovered that they were ablaze.

The police service unit had been assigned to the Lacovia police station while the other car belonged to the head of the St. Elizabeth Praedial Larceny Unit.
