Place public’s Interest at the forefront, Holness tells Cabinet members

Prime Minister Andrew Holness has urged his 18 member cabinet to at all times during their deliberations place foremost in their minds the interest of the poor and most vulnerable.

Holness also advised his Cabinet that they cannot afford to disappoint the high expectations of Jamaicans.

The Prime Minister made the remarks on Tuesday afternoon at Jamaica House during the first Cabinet meeting of the new JLP administration. The Cabinet meeting ended late last night.

Holness was flanked by Finance Minister Audley Shaw and Minister without portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister Horace Chang while he delivered his opening remarks as Chairman of the Cabinet.

The Prime Minister also encouraged all members of the Cabinet to speak their minds openly and think creatively towards finding solutions to challenges facing the country.
