UPDATE: Two more high-powered guns found at Stadium East complex 

The security forces have found two more high-powered guns at the Stadium East sports complex in St Andrew, where a major security operation has been on since Sunday afternoon.

The latest finds on Wednesday were an AK-47 assault rifle and a Remington shotgun.

The tally of guns found in the operation now stands at 10, inclusive of three seized on Sunday, five on Monday, and the two on Wednesday.

All but two of the seized guns were high-powered weapons, inclusive of AK-47 rifles, an M16 assault rifle, shotguns and a Uzi submachine gun.

An assortment of ammunition, along with numerous ballistic vests, have also been seized.

The joint police-military operation has included a number of specialised units, and the police have indicated an intention to continue the effort until all likely weapons stored on the compound are found.

More follow-ups are anticipated as further developments arise.
